This page tells you how to book a day at "the Hut" in 2024
The booking system starts in November when emails or letters are sent to everyone on our mailing list, with the actual bookings being made by phone in the following January.
We will start to take booking enquiries from 9am WEDNESDAY 17th January 2024 to our special booking phone number 07842 179734. 2024 Booking letters, booking forms and booking conditions have been uploaded onto this website for you to print and use. These are now being sent to everyone on our mailing list. In most cases they will be sent to an email address. Otherwise they will be sent by post.
We have not "rolled over" any reservations from 2023, so we shall be starting 2024 with a blank diary and it will be "first come - first served" as in pre-covid years, with about 200 days available.

We allocate and reserve the dates as the individual phone calls are received. This will mean that you may be on the phone for some time trying to get through, but the good news is that once you do get your called answered, you will be given an instant answer by our volunteer call handlers. It is therefore important that the person making the call on your behalf has the authority to make an instant decision about what day to accept if your first choice preferred day has already been allocated to an earlier caller. We will ask you for a contact name and phone number when you call - so please have that ready.
Knowing that there will probably be lots of people trying to get their call answered, we try to keep each call as short as possible. We would love to stop and have a chat about "the Hut", but that would mean keeping other callers waiting - so pleased don't be offended if we try to deal with your call in the shortest possible time. We do not check callers' names off againt our mailing list. We recognise the names of many callers who have come here before. If we have any doubts about the identity of a caller, we will ask a few questions to be sure that the visitors fall in the "profile" of our intended users - Residntial, Care or Nursing Homes, Support groups (Parkinsons, Stroke Dementia etc.) O.A.P. Clubs and the like. If there are any days left after the initial rush, or enquires about evening bookings, we may be a little more flexible in the visitor profile.
